Back on March 17th after the pandemic hit, I posted an article called prepare your future with Rejoice. After a couple of months I\’m not sure if we are truly prepared for the future. It seems like to me that many of us think that things are going to go back to the way they were, I sure hope so but COVID19 should have been a wake up call for all of us but many either didn\’t wake up or hear the call. 9-1-1 was a wake up call; 2008 financial bubble burst was a wake up call; now COVID19; what\’s next? How many more wake up calls do we need before we start planning for an uncertain future as many are asking, what\’s the plan?
I believe the plan is to Rejoice! The government is pouring trillions of dollars into the economy trying to ward off a complete financial meltdown disaster by providing stimulus checks to individuals; bailouts to businesses; paycheck protection to workers; economic injury disaster relief loans and unemployment claims and the list goes on. Is it enough? Only time will tell but what if it isn\’t, what are you and I going to do? Yes, we can hope and pray and God will make a way but our lives are at stake if it doesn\’t happen.
Well, why not choose to Rejoice! Don\’t plan to fail or fail to plan as failure is not an option! Church leaders are right now scrambling to find answers, why you might ask? Social distancing and church are oxymoron as these opposites don\’t attract. More churches are now depending on YouTube, Zoom, videos and other means to get the good word out and about until church reopens. Pastors know they\’re in trouble when their members are unemployed but they failed to plan so you know the rest.
It would seem that Rejoice is the obvious choice seeing that we actually have a plan, wouldn\’t it? That\’s why it\’s up to us to get the word out even if it falls on deaf ears. People are going to go on about their lives until disaster strikes. Nothing has changed as the bible talks about the wise, foolish, simple and the scorner so the question is which one are you? If you can\’t depend on you job, health or wealth in this next season then let me ask you, besides God, what else are you depending or waiting on or going to do?
